first week: of confusion and friends

たくさん面白いしゅうかんでした。。。

it was an interesting week...

all right, well my flight from tokyo to nagoya was uneventful really. i chatted it up with dani during the half an hour flight and we didn't even get food or a movie options. we were very worried because of the time that no one would be able to pick us all up at the aiport. we got our bags, went through customs, turned the corner and found our people waiting for us. WHAT A RELIEF! they were all very nice and gave us gifts. they then bought our bus ticket, loaded our bags, and said to get off at the last stop. we didn't hear how long the trip would take and were falling asleep. we didn't, though, since we didn't want to miss our stop.

72 minutes later(!) we get to our stop. i was worried again, that no one would pick us up because of the time. luckily, i noticed in our packet of how to get around nagoya, they included a way to get a hold of a taxi and make it to the I-HOUSE. again, there were people waiting for us. they gave us more gifts and helped us into the taxi. the taxi was a short one and we made it in less than 15 minutes. the people that met us outside paid for our ride. a very quick, but very detailed tour of the house and i was OUT.

i woke up at 5 AM and decided i'd decorate my room. i worked till 7, where i passed out again. dani woke me up at 10 because there was a shopping tour the following morning. HOLY HELL WAS IT HUMID! oh man... and there are giGANTIC spiders EVERYWHERE. i almost ran into 7 in one web.

we met these really nice japanese girls who led the tour. we went to this italian resturant that had sooooo many good foods to chose from. i couldn't pick just one ><

during that time, i got to meet new people and chat it up with them. it was nice and we hung out the rest of the tour. we walked EVERYWHERE in that heat. first we went to get stuff for our room that only cost 100 yen (the 1 dollar store) and i got laundry detergent and a summer wind chime and some other little things. i found doitsu the BEST gift ever. [evil smirk.] ;>

so then we went to the super market. i was SO focused on getting my milk and cereal that i forgot to get anything else. oh well! we were told we would be coming back the next day.

THE NEXT DAY we did the exact same tour again, only this time, i met even MORE new friends. i was talking to these two girls and i went, "....where are you from? you have an accent..." the stare and go, "can't you tell? england...?" ho damn did i flip out in sheer happiness. they laughed and said they were surprised i enjoyed their accents so much. THEN they said, "oh, we LOVE hetalia!" i practically lept across the table in sheer happiness. XDDDD

at night, after the tour, some of the senpai's (older students) went out and bought alchohol. i had me some nasty ass vodkah, but got pretty drunk. it was fun and we played some games. then i went, "hey...wait...there are OTHER british guys here!" and had a damn good time talking to them. i made them read harry potter. XDDD (yeah, i'm pretty bad. lol. they didn't mind.)

so today, we had orientation and a campus tour. the classrooms were nice and big and there was a translator there. i was amazed how much of the shit the guy said i could understand. うれしいよ!

we then took a tour around the campus. confusing as hell at first, but then i got the hang of it. then came the computer problems... so...they showed us how to set up the internet at SCHOOL. we asked them what do we do with our laptops. they said, "ask your senpai's. they know the proxy." so we did... we got back from school at like... 4 PM, it's almost 6 PM and no one has the internet. BUT HEY! i can use the ones in the house for a little while... yeah...no fun...

i have a crap ton of pictures to upload for you all so i can't wait until you all see them. i miss you all, but i'm not homesick. tomorrow is a free day (no tours or anything) so there might be a hetalia and a movie marathon and HOPEFULLY the internet will be working. we'll see... in any case, sunday i go for a nice long tour around nagoya city. stay tuned for that update as i KNOW something good is bound to happen!

much love
